Yesterday I was trying to beg Mr. 8 to get his homework done. He was screaming, crying, avoiding, playing, pooing, eating... everything except homework. Mr. 5 year old wanted me to play Legos with him. He waited patiently for 2 whole hours during the homework drama. During that time I also made dinner and fed the baby. Then I tried to give the baby a bath, but the toilet was flooding. I drained the tank, mopped up the water, and filled his bath. After taking off his diaper I stepped in something soft and solid... POO!!! I stepped right into the poo that fell out of his diaper unbeknownst to me. Ugh. Then I bathed baby, and make Mr 8 finsih him homework. Finally Mr 5 realized that I had 1 tiny spare moment and begged me to play legos with him. When I told him I couldn't he raged. Kicked me in the stomach. Scratched and hit me. That was the end. I carried him upstairs to time out in his room and he kept kicking so I dropped him. He hit his back on the air purifier. What a horrible moment. Bewitching hour... 4-6. Yuck.
Today I was changing baby's diaper. His pee-pee pulls into the shaft so I poke it back out. Mr 8 and Mr 5 laughed and laughed at that and each had to have a turn poking his pee-pee back out.
While I was kneeling on the floor the change the diaper when Mr. 8 year old jumped on my bent back. OUCH! Mr. 5 year old was trying to stick a lego spear into baby's ear, then into his nose, then on his forehead as a unicorn horn. They were being loud, crazy, silly, and pooor baby looked scared to death. "Leave! Now!" I said.
How do things get out of hand like this so quickly?
Tonight Mr. 8 did his homework all by himself without prodding, prompting, crying, begging, screaming, bribing, threatening... of course he did it to get to go to fund raiser night at chuck e cheese before baseball. He didn't make it in time. But I was proud of him for being responsible. The screaming when he didn't make it in time was painful though.
